  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. AUB offers more than 130 programs leading to bachelor's, master's, MD, and PhD degrees. The main language of instruction is English.

Energy and Utilities Unit Facilities

Powering AUB and AUBMC through reliable, efficient, and resilient infrastructure systems.

The Energy and Utilities Unit (EUU) manages AUB's power and steam generation, electrical distribution systems, water storage and distribution, medical gases systems, and campus-wide utility networks, ensuring safe, reliable, and uninterrupted operations across AUB and AUBMC.

The unit also leads energy efficiency initiatives, renewable energy integration projects, and critical infrastructure upgrades that support environmental stewardship and enhance long-term operational resilience.

EUU plays a critical role in supporting the University's academic, research, and healthcare missions through resilient infrastructure and sustainable energy management.
