Observatory Piazza

As part of the Master Plan guidelines, the Facilities Planning & Design Unit (FPDU) is working to enhance the campus outdoor spaces. The Observatory Piazza, which is known by its location “The Banyan Tree” and is one of the very important spaces that lead to the Auditorium of the new IFI building (designed by Zaha Hadid), is one outdoor space the FPDU intends to beautify and enhance.

In order to increase the absorption of the grounds, we are using sustainable material, mainly interlock tiles with open joints to replace the asphalt pavement and this will improve the ground water absorption. We will also add one flight of stairs to improve student accessibility between the ground level of the IFI and the Basement level.
