A. Admission to First Year
AUB admits students from 12 years of schooling, starting with elementary 1. Students holding diplomas from a twelve-year secondary school system may gain admission to the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences by completing the freshman program at AUB or its equivalent elsewhere.. Holders of the Baccalaureate Part II in Humanity may be considered for admission provided they take one additional course MATH 203.
B. Admission of Transfer Students
Those coming from the freshman program should have completed six credits of freshman math and nine credits of natural sciences. Students applying for transfer from another faculty or university must have a minimum grade point average of 70 for Agriculture, 75 for Agribusiness, Nutrition, Food Sciences and Management, and Landscape Architecture and Diploma of Ingénieur Agricole to be considered for admission. Graduate Admission Requirements
The faculty offers the MS degree, with or without thesis, in the following majors: agricultural economics, animal sciences, food security, food technology, irrigation, nutrition, plant protection, plant science, poultry science, and rural community development. The faculty also participates in the interfaculty graduate programs leading to the degrees of MS in Environmental Sciences (major: Ecosystem Management) and MS in Nutrition.
Students following a thesis program are required to take a minimum of 21 graduate level course credits plus a thesis. No thesis program should include more than 3 tutorial course credits with core regular courses constituting a minimum of 12 credits excluding seminars and tutorials. A student following a non-thesis program is required to take a minimum of 33 graduate level course credits. The program should include a minimum of 3 credits and a maximum of 6 tutorial credits with at least 12 credits being from core courses in the major.
AUB Graduate Assistantships (GA)
The University provides fellowships covering partial or full tuition and a small stipend for students at the graduate level in return for a specified number of work hours per week in an academic department. Recipients are selected on the basis of their academic record and departmental needs.
New applicants wishing to apply for a graduate assistantship (GA) should complete the GA application form (included in the graduate admission application form) and submit it together to the AUB Admissions Office at the following address:
