Reducing the Direct Economic Downturn Impact on Vulnerable Communities in Lebanon

Implemented in Beirut and Tripoli

This project aims to improve the self-sufficiency of vulnerable communities and enhance local agricultural production and food processing through the development of urban agriculture demo-plots throughout Beirut and in Tripoli and the establishment of an agri-food lab/start-up hub at Zico House in Beirut. Additionally, the project provides short-term labor force support to expand the production and sustain the self-sufficiency of farmers, cooperatives, SMEs and start-ups.

“Reducing the Direct Economic Downturn Impact on Vulnerable Communities in Lebanon” is a United Nations Development Programme (UNDP Lebanon) project, implemented in partnership between ESDU, the Lebanese League for Women in Business (LLWB), the Food Heritage Foundation (FHF), Berytech and is financially supported by the German Embassy in Beirut through funds from KfW in Germany.
