  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. The University encourages freedom of thought and expression and seeks to graduate men and women committed to creative and critical thinking, lifelong learning, personal integrity, civic responsibility, and leadership.

AUB offers more than 130 programs leading to bachelor's, master's, MD, and PhD degrees. The main language of instruction is English.

Urban Oasis Design Competition

On the occasion of ESDU’s 20th anniversary, the LDEM department and ESDU are inviting you to participate in the “Urban Oasis Design Competition’’ to design ESDU’s newly established Engagement Center that respects the human and nature sustainability and that implements the circular economy, sustainable agriculture and agro-ecology concepts.

Registration period: 28 May 2021 until 6 June 2021

ESDU "Keepers of the Land" 2021 Calendar

On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, The Environment and Sustainable Development Unit – (ESDU) is producing a 2021 calendar "Keepers of the Land", with beautiful pictures documenting and celebrating its accomplishments over 20 years of developmental work with rural communities.

The calendar is sold as a fundraiser to support Food for Beirut and will be available at ESDU office - FAFS and Librairie Antoine for 50,000L.L.
