Recurrent Crises and Resilience for Lebanon’s Agro Food Producers, Exporters, and Food Security

​​​​FAFS' Food Security and Agribusiness Programs co-hosted the webinar Looking Back, Looking Forward: Recurrent Crises and Resilience for Lebanon's Agro-Food Producers, Exporters, and Food Security  on December 16, 2020. 

Focusing on Lebanon's fruits and vegetables sector, the webinar explored the resilience of Lebanon's agro-food producers and exporters in light of the impacts of previous shocks and challenges, responses of private and public actors, and lessons learned. The webinar featured remarks by Dean Rabi Mohtar, Dr. Rami Zurayk (Professor and Chair, Food Security Program Executive Committee), and Dr. Ali Chalak (Associate Professor and Coordinator, Agribusiness Program). 

Expert panelists included Dr. Kanj Hamade (Lebanese University), Mr. Khaled Sinno (Karma Lebanon SAL), Ms. Nadine Khoury (Robinson Agri), and Mr. Georges Nasraoui (Sonaco Holding/Al Rabih)  who offered their views on the topic and answered audience questions. Ms. Rachel Bahn (Instructor and Coordinator, Food Security Program) served as Moderator of the event, which was livestreamed on YouTube and can now be viewed on​ Food Security Program's YouTube channel​.
