Dr. Yaser Abunnasr, Associate Dean and Chair of the Department of Landscape Design and Ecosystem Management, was invited to speak at the NAWAMED International Workshop: "Mediterranean Green Transition Toward climate change adaptation and circular water management" held in Syracuse, Italy (October 3-6).
The NAWAMED - Nature Based Solutions for Domestic Water Reuse in Mediterranean Countries - project aims to change the urban water management practice by adopting innovative, sustainable, and low-cost treatment technologies. FAFS, led by Dr. Abunnasr as the project's principal investigator, is part of a consortium of seven partners from five countries (Italy, Tunisia, Jordan, Malta, and Lebanon).
During the event, Dr. Abunnasr presented the work being done under the framework of the project on AUB Campus and at AREC, including the implementation of a constructed wetland and a green wall for greywater recycling.
