Dr. Issmat Kassem was recently designated a Certified Professional in Food Safety (CP-FS) by the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA). The credential allows holders to engage in retail, food environment, food-safe chemical suppliers, or regulatory inspectors, investigators. Furthermore, CP-FS holders have demonstrated their ability to conduct and evaluate hazard analyses and critical control point (HACCP) plans or other risk-based food safety programs, including caused and prevention of foodborne illnesses, and sanitation standard operating procedures. Dr. Kassem currently holds certification in preventive controls for human foods and is designated as a preventive controls qualified individual by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA). He is certified in Advanced Growers Training by the Produce Safety Alliance (PSA).
