NFSC and the Hariri School of Nursing provide nutrition and dietetics students with simulated learning experiences

The department of Nutrition & Food Science, in coordination with the Hariri School of Nursing (HSON), offers senior dietetics students the opportunity to take part of a clinical experience and skill building through the Simulation and Clinical Competency Center (SCCC) located at HSON throughout their Medical Nutrition Therapy Lab 1 and 2 course work.

The Center, under the coordination of Dr. Randa Farha, provides simulated learning experiences for concerned students, faculty, and practitioners from all health professions across Lebanon and the region. Nutrition and Dietetics students can engage in hands-on training sessions with an evidence-based simulated mannequin patient that is capable of replicating real aspects from the dietetic working environment in which the mannequin is able to reflect and give feedback. They are also encouraged to implement the Nutrition Care Process taught during the academic year and engage and physical scenarios that will prepare them for clinical placements, and train them to meet the challenges faced in the real world.
