Symposium on Eating Disorders

​NFSC, in collaboration with the 49th Middle East Medical Assembly (MEMA), organized a symposium on Eating Disorders that was held on Saturday, April 21.

The symposium provided updates on the screening and treatment of eating disorders and featured internationally renowned speakers in the field.  Dr. Anne Becker discussed the role of socioeconomic factors in the emergence of eating disorders; Dr. Ghina Ismail provided a clinical perspective on these increasingly prevalent disorders; Dr. James Lock provided an overview of the available treatments for eating disorders in adults, and Dr. Lama Mattar discussed the responsibilities of the health care provider in the screening for eating dodders. ​

Health professionals, academicians, dietitians, nutrition students, interns, and residents attended the symposium.
