Workshop on interactive lecturing, Dr. Yaser Abunnasr

Dr. Yaser Abunnasr organized and conducted a workshop Interactive Lecturing for the Center of Teaching and Learning. The workshop, held on November 15, 2018 in West Hall, presented the ideas, tools, and experiences of interactive lecturing, and included interactive activities addressing the debate on interactive versus traditional lecturing. More than 20 faculty members from across the campus worked individually or in groups to discuss and debate their own experiences and views on the topic.

The exploratory, interactive workshop provided a platform for self-reflection on the participants’ own lecturing methods. The learning objective of the workshop was to explain interactive lecturing and its tools. Outcomes included assessment of the suitability of interactive lecturing for the participant’s style of teaching, and application of some of the tools of interactive lecturing.
