AREC for promotion of good agricultural practices in the upper Litani basin

​​​FAFS professors Mustapha Haidar and Youssef Abou Jawdeh, in collaboration with FAO representatives, organized a two day workshop (May 2-3) sponsored by FAO at AREC on the topic: Promotion of good agricultural practices, including integrated pest management to reduce agrochemical pollution in upper Litani Bassin. 


Haidar explained the importance of sprayer calibration in effective treatments: calibration saves both herbicides and money. The work​shop featured a demonstration on proper calibration of boom sprayers and hand held sprayers.  Over 40 scientists from the Ministry of Agriculture and non-governmental organizations attended the workshop.
