CLIMAT: supporting the livelihoods of rural communities

As part of the ongoing CLIMAT project, training sessions have targeted the three CLIMAT value chains: 1) small ruminant production, 2) alternative and climate-smart agricultural crop production, and 3) agro-food processing. Beneficiaries from West Bekaa (about 125) and from Northeast Baalbeck (about 150), participated in training sessions this month.

Work in the agricultural demo-plots is also in progress: the plot established by ESDU in Saghbine reflects sustainability, agroecology, and organic production. The marketing pillar in CLIMAT has been highly active recently, with the marketing strategy in place and its implementation initiated, rural producers are connecting with farmers' markets and potential consumers.
