The US Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics announced that NFSC Professor Nahla Hwalla is among the recipients of their 2019 Medallion Award in recognition of her dedication to the high standards of the nutrition and dietetics profession, and active participation, leadership and devotion to serving others in nutrition and dietetics, and its allied health fields. Dr. Hwalla’s dedication to the future of practice, research, and education in nutrition and dietetics, contributes to her rich legacy of perseverance and professionalism to make her a respected and revered role model and teacher for students and professionals throughout the field.
The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Medallion Awards, yearly since 1976, honor Academy members dedicated to the high standards of the nutrition and dietetics profession. Awards are announced each year to individuals whose dedication to active participation, leadership and devotion to serving others in nutrition and dietetics, as well as allied health fields, serve as an example to all. This year, Dr. Hwalla, was chosen by the Academy’s Honors Committee and Board of Directors to receive top Academy national honors and awards. Nahla Hwalla will receive the award at a special Honors Breakfast on Sunday, October 27, at the 2019 Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo™ (FNCE®) in Philadelphia, Pa.
