Dr. Omar Obeid will serve as the next Chairperson of the Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences (NFSC) for a three-year term, beginning September 1, 2019, through August 2022.
Dr. Omar Obeid, a tenured Professor of Human Nutrition in the department of Nutrition and Food Sciences, received his Ph.D. from King’s College London, University of London, UK (1990). He joined FAFS as an Assistant Professor in September 2001, becoming Associate Professor and Full Professor in 2003 and 2009, respectively. He achieved the rank of tenured full professor in September 2018. FAFS congratulates Dr. Obeid and wishes him success in his new role, and expresses sincere gratitude to Dr. Imad Toufeili for his service and commitment to NFSC throughout his term as Chair.
