Souk aal Souk Christmas-Farmer’s Market in Hamra

ESDU in collaboration with the AUB Neighborhood Initiative and the Food Heritage Foundation, organized a Christmas Souk aal Souk-Farmer’s Market, December 18 in Jeanne D’Arc Street, Hamra.

Twenty-Six local farmers and producers participated in the souk, offering a variety of fresh and organic groceries, Christmas and holiday healthy cookies, recycled accessories, and other locally produced goods. The slogan of the Christmas souk, Think Local, Shop Local!, served as a call out in support of local producers from different areas of Lebanon. As part of its plan to build capacity among vulnerable Lebanese producers, ESDU aims to create marketing and distribution channels that connect rural area producers with city consumers by offering the healthy, local alternatives to consumers and a profitable market to producers.
