The school-nutrition program Ajyal Salima, implemented for the first time in Bahrain was a great success during the 2018-19 academic year. This achievement led to a second rollout for the current academic year which targeted new schools. As part of the initiative, a second train-the-trainer workshop, co-organized and delivered by the program's scientific team from FAFS in partnership with Nestlé Middle East, took place in December 2019.
The two-day workshop in Manama was attended by officials from the Bahrain Ministries of Health and Education and the General Director of Nestlé Bahrain, Mr. Amr Abdoun. Hands-on training sessions were delivered to 40 participants from public and private schools, including teachers and health supervisors. Attendees expressed enthusiasm and interest in participating in the valuable workshops aimed at spreading nutrition awareness and preventing obesity among children in Bahrain.
