ESDU took part in various exciting festive events this December. First off, ESDU organized a Christmas farmer's market “Souk Aal Souk" at the UN-ESCWA building in Beirut.
Initially established in 2013, “Souk Aal Souk" aims to promote the organic and healthy food of local farmers and small-scale producers from across Lebanon. It also intends to build and strengthen linkages between urban residents and rural producers by offering city residents access to healthy traditional food and direct contact with producers.
Additionally, the Akleh Community Kitchen participated in the Beirutetna Festival where visitors embraced the festive season by enjoying delicious ready-to-eat bites prepared with love. Supporting small-scale farmers, all of the ingredients were sourced from rural areas.
