ESDU receives a Grant under WFP program to Enhance the Livelihood of vulnerable communities

Within WFP’s Program, Enhancing the Livelihoods of Vulnerable Lebanese Host Communities and Syrian Refugees through Food Assistance for Training (FFT) Activities, ESDU was granted a 1,667,967USD to implement Window 1 Short Term FFT activities focusing on supporting vulnerable individuals and Window 2 Long-Term Capacity Building Support activities focusing on cooperatives and SMEs.

This project extends over a 10 months period (June 2020 – March 2021) and will be implemented in Bekaa, Northeast Baalbek and the North by ESDU in partnership with LLWB and COSPE. In light of the current socio-economic crisis, this project aims at promoting the local food system by addressing the main gaps in the targeted value chains (dairy and fruits and vegetables) through promoting small-scale farmers/producer, enhancing product quality, integrating innovation in authentic food production, promoting sustainable agricultural practices, and facilitating market linkages.
