The ESDU team, part of the Ardi Ardak initiative, is working hard to spread hope, help Lebanese villages, and put smiles on the faces of needy families during this dire period. Since the beginning of the crisis in March 2020, and in collaboration with its partners, Food Heritage Foundations, Lebanese League for Women in Business and Zico House, and collaboration with other national campaigns, the Initiative distributed 669 Food Parcels, 62,000 seedlings and 7,300 seeds bags to villages and cities all over Lebanon. Food Items were procured from over 35 cooperatives, community kitchens, and small-scale producers. The seeds & seedlings included varieties such as tomato, cucumber, eggplant, and more. The Ardi Ardak team, in collaboration with the Samidoun campaign organized by Al Jadeed TV, also distributed 500 packages of seedlings & seeds in Shmustar, Kasarnaba, Bednayel and Arsal.

The team works closely with landowners to assess land and provide sustainable production plans and in-kind support. To date, 42 assessment applications were submitted, two were assessed and supported; these numbers are expected to rise in the near future.
ESDU and Ardi Ardak Initiative teamed up with Nadine Labaki and several other sustainable Agricultural initiatives to launch the national Zarriet Albi campaign in a musical video clip directed by Nadine Labaki and starring several Lebanese celebrities who called for citizens to grow seeds and vegetables in their homes and on their land.
