Experiential Learning in Agriculture Education webinar, a key element towards Transforming Higher Education

The Transforming Higher Education project, led by FAFS/AUB and the Asia-Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institute (APAARI) organized (June 2) the “Experiential Learning in Agriculture Education" webinar.  The webinar featured experiential learning experiences from leaders in the field such as Professor Saouma BouJaoude (AUB), Professor Michel Wattiaux (University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA), Professor Daniel Sherrard (EARTH University, Costa Rica), and Professor Frank Robinson (University of Alberta, Canada). The webinar's main objective was to discuss the role of experiential learning in transforming higher education. Topics discussed included theoretical foundations and objectives of experiential learning, implementing experiential education, getting faculty involved, experiential learning in the classroom, learn to discuss and discuss to learn, and experiences in inquiry-based learning in animal agriculture. More than 260 participants from the AUB-W.K. Kellogg project and the Global GCHERA network of more than 45institutions in 26 countries attended the webinar and actively engaged in the discussion moderated by FAFS' Dr. Roula Bachour.
