The final webinar of the series "The impact of COVID-19 on Global Food Security'' took place on June 18. The webinar addressed the impact of COVID-19 on gender and global food and nutrition security by addressing the issues faced by women and children in vulnerable communities. International guest speakers shared insightful messages on the crisis. The COVID-19 outbreak has yielded long-term positive effects for the recognition of the role of women in food and nutrition security. Given the paramount role that women play on the household level, speakers shared views and activities from the countries and regions where they are based, including South Asia, Lebanon, Zambia, and United Kingdom. They also urged the international community toward a more collaborative, timely response and support for urgently addressing outstanding issues and gender equity. After this seventh successful webinar, moderators Martin Keulertz and Rachel Bahn closed the final webinar with a salute to the international speakers and the huge audience who joined, followed, and watched this exciting series administered by FAFS Food Security Program and its research assistants.
