Due to the current challenges related to COVID-19 pandemic, AUB-FAFS held their New Student Orientation for both Undergraduate and Graduate students online (August 25-26). Dean Rabi H. Mohtar welcomed FAFS new students, who highlighted FAFS' mission for Healthy Earth, Healthy Food, Healthy People.
Dr. Mohamad Farran, Coordinator of FAFS Undergraduate Studies Programs, briefed new undergraduate students about everything they need to know to successfully complete their undergraduate years at FAFS, introducing all recourses available to them.
Students were then briefed by their respective professors about their majors. Dr. Farran gave a presentation for the Agriculture students; Dr. Chalak for the Agribusiness students; Dr. Chamieh for the Nutrition and Dietetics students; Dr. Abiad for the Food Science, and Management students; Dr. Dreksler for the Landscape Architecture students.
Dean Mohtar also welcomed the new graduate students explaining about FAFS research clusters, and the importance of the current projects led by FAFS. Dr. Isam Bashour, Coordinator of Graduate Studies Programs, briefed the new students about FAFS' graduate programs, rules and guidelines. The orientation was concluded by a Q /A session.
