The Rene Moawad Foundation (RMF), within the Dutch-funded program, conducted The workshop 'for Soil analysis, Water analysis, Nutrient plant tissue analysis, Potatoes Cyst Nematodes (PCN) and Pesticides Residues among the four value chains at the Michel and Sherine Bayoud lecture hall in FAFS (February 12). This program supports sustainable economic development by upgrading the export-enabling environment of the four main value chains and increasing the exports of table grapes, avocados, cherries, and potatoes to Europe and regional markets.
This workshop introduced many of the Global Gap requirements to the attendees. The Global GAP is the Worldwide Good Agriculture Practices; an initiative targeting farmers and aiming at working with larger chains while growing in sustainable and environmentally friendly ways; the initiative also addresses the welfare of workers and animals.
