NFSC achieved successful VO2max test

NFSC marked the first successful VO2max test (January 22), conducted at the Nutrition Metabolic Research Lab (NML) by Research Assistant, Ms. Cecil Borgi under the supervision of NFSC Assistant Professor, Dr. Elie-Jacques Fares. The NML is equipped with advanced metabolic assessment tools- calorimetry for maximal and submaximal exercise testing, nutritional energetics and body composition regulation assessment. The performed test opens up new research avenues to investigate the association of diet and/or exercise on cardiovascular fitness and aerobic endurance.

NFSC would like to specially thank Dr. Afif Mufarrij of Emergency Medicine at AUBMC, Ms. Lara El-Masri of the cardiac lab at AUBMC and Dr. Tarek Gherbal of the Charles W. Hostler Student Center for their contributions.
