The Foodtech Challenge Panel Discussion held online on November 18, featured FAFS' very own Rami Zurayk in a discussion led by Her Excellency Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, UAE's Minister of State for Food and Water Security. Dr. Zurayk joined Maria Helena Semedo, Deputy Director-General of the FAO, and Danielle Nierenberg, co-founder of Food Tank and other global experts in highlighting current challenges facing food security across the globe, and opportunities that individuals, firms, and policy makers can capitalize upon to ensure a food-secure future for all.
The Foodtech Challenge is a global competition that seeks innovative solutions to address food security. The competition supports the UAE's commitment to provide its population with sufficient, safe, nutritious food. Applicants from all backgrounds are invited to apply, especially university students and early-stage start-ups with prior experience in urban farming.
