Honey Day: 2019 Christmas edition special

FAFS' class of apiculture (AGSC 219) held a Christmas Honey Day at AUB. The event included an environmental awareness campaign about bees and Colony Collapse Disease (CCD), the phenomenon occurring when the majority of a colony's worker bees disappear, leaving behind a queen, plenty of food, and a few nursery bees to care for the remaining immature bees and the queen.

There was an observation hive with live bees, and opportunities for honey tasting! Honey, honey-based products, and other hive products were available for purchase at this event to highlight the importance of a clean, healthy environment for our bees and to raise awareness about how bees help pollinate the food we eat on a daily basis.
