During this dire period, LDEM remains persistent to recognize the work and efforts of its FYP students through its annual Nehme Moujaess Student Award in Landscape Architecture.

FAFS and LDEM congratulate the winner and runner ups for the Nehme Moujaess Student Award in Landscape Architecture for the academic year 2019-2020. Ms. Nour El Zein was the finalist after a rigorous virtual selection process set by LDEM committee members. In addition to the winner, two final year students in Landscape Architecture were also shortlisted and presented with certificates of recognition. The students are Ms. Lama Amin, who ranked 2nd and Ms. Julia Abi Saab who ranked 3rd.

The selection committee comprised of three voting members including Dr. Rami Zurayk, chair of the committee and representative of Mr. Nehme Moujaess, Mr. Vladimir Djurovic, representative of the landscape profession/field, Dr. Beata Dreksler, representative of the LDEM department, and one non-voting member Dr. Maria Gabriella Trovato, Final Year Project main instructor

The Nehme Moujaess Student Award in Landscape Architecture is a yearly award established in 2017, which honors a final year LDEM student for his final year design project and research conducted during the last two semesters of the undergraduate degree in Landscape Architecture. The award's mission is to recognize and promote innovative and exceptional landscape projects that are responsive to place, culture, and to the natural and ecological needs of the region.

The committee has selected Ms. El Zein's project “Sayniq River: Discovering the Hidden Waterscape" as the most developed and responsive culturally, socially and environmentally at both the macro and micro scale. LDEM congratulates Ms. El Zein on her excellent work and looks forward to presenting her with the award on a date that will be later determined.
