On September 23, 2021, Dr. Lamis Jomaa, Associate Professor, NFSC-FAFS was a panelist in the Pioneers in Nutrition and Food Science session of the World Economic Forum's Sustainable Development Impact Summit 2021.
Panel members included Dr. Jomaa, Magdalena Skipper, Editor-in-Chief, Nature, United Kingdom, and Dr. Jennifer Ronholm from McGill University, who discussed the ways in which obesity, malnutrition and antibiotic resistance (as a result of intensive farming) threaten economic and societal health in the future. The Sustainability Pioneers series showcases entrepreneurs and innovators who are addressing today's major challenges to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
