Dr. Beata Dreksler and part-time Lecturer Wissam Melhem organized a two-day field trip as part of the LDEM 228 studio (Studio V: Urban Landscape Design). LDEM I, II and IV students also joined for the experience as well.
The field trip was held on October 3 and 4, 2021 and included visits to Tripoli, Ehden, and Qadisha Valley. Students spent the first day in Tripoli visiting the old city and the Rashid Karami International Fair. The second day, students hiked in Qadisha Valley and visited old monasteries. During the field trip, students from the different years performed different tasks related to their respective design courses.
The trip was a bonding activity for the students and a great opportunity to expose them to some of Lebanon's natural, cultural, and urban landscapes and at the same time, an experience of student bonding across all years.
