Nahla Hwalla presenting “Nutritional status and dietary practices of UAE children (0-13 years old) in the UAE: Findings from the FITS/KIDS study”

​​Dr. Nahla Hwalla, Professor at the Nutrition and Food Sciences Department-FAFS, presented “Nutritional status and dietary practices of UAE children (0-13 years old) in the UAE: Findings from the FITS/KIDS study" at the 7th Annual Dubai International Nutrition Congress - Global Perspectives of the Feeding of Infants and Toddlers (November 4th).

The Feeding Infants and Toddler Study (FITS) and the Kids Nutrition and Health Survey (KNHS) are large-scale cross-sectional surveys designed to explore eating patterns, nutrient intakes, and food sources of nutrients in infants and children. 

Dr. Hwalla highlighted the prevalence and importance of breastfeeding practices, the adequacy of nutrient intakes, the prevalence of childhood obesity, and the level of adherence to dietary guidelines of children in the United Arab Emirates.
