AUB & partners launch the Digital Revitalization of the Agri-food sector in Mashreq publication in Lebanon AUB and its partners, the World Bank Group, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN-ESCWA), Food and Agricultural Organization (UN-FAO), and the Center for Mediterranean Integration (CMI) convened the online event: “DigitalAg4Mashreq – Transforming the Agri-Food Sector in Mashreq" on June 23.
The virtual event celebrated the formal launch of the publication Digital Revitalization of the Agri-food Sector in Mashreq: Focus on Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon, and featured Dean Rabi Mohtar, and speakers from the partner institutions. This publication was developed under the Mashreq Agricultural Initiative (MAI), for which FAFS manages the Secretariat overseeing its collaborative work to support the transformation of agri-food systems in the region. Its lead authors include AUB faculty members Rachel Bahn, Rami Zurayk, and Rabi Mohtar; it also contains the intellectual and organizational contributions of many other faculty, staff, and students at AUB.
