Rami Zurayk leads interactive session within the “Arab Regional Food Systems Dialogue” organized by ESCWA, FAO, WFP, WHO, IFAD, and AOAD

Dr. Rami Zurayk, Professor in the Department of Landscape Design and Ecosystem Management (LDEM) and Director of the Food Security Program (FSP), led an interactive discussion session (March 29) within the “Arab Regional Food Systems Dialogue” organized by ESCWA, FAO, WFP, WHO, IFAD, and AOAD.

The dialogue held during the 2021 Arab Forum on Sustainable Development was in preparation for the 2021 Food Systems Summit and brought together 200 regional actors in an integrative platform that enabled them to share perspectives, experiences, and issues on making the region’s food systems healthier, more inclusive and more sustainable, while enhancing their resilience in the context of COVID-19. Dr. Zurayk delivered an overview about food systems and constraints that affect the transformation of Arab food systems, before launching an interactive discussion around the five action tracks of the 2021 Food Systems Summit.
