On its 21st anniversary, the Landscape Design and Ecosystem Management (LDEM) department is thrilled to announce the accreditation of its Bachelor of Landscape Architecture program (BLA), by the Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board (LAAB), the academic arm of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). BLA at AUB is now the first program, worldwide, to be accredited by LAAB/ASLA outside the USA. Accreditation is an international recognition of the quality of education that LDEM provides and is a particularly exceptional achievement in light of the current political, financial, and health challenges we are facing as a nation.
Success was the fruit of the hard work of the LDEM team, led by Dr. Yaser Abunnasr and with the support of FAFS Dean's office. The Accreditation is granted for six years starting 2021 and represents the culmination of five years of continuous effort.
