Following two and a half years of preparation, the virtual accreditation visit was the final step in the decision to accredit the BLA program. This virtual visit replaced the face-to-face visit that had been scheduled for Spring 2020 but postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The virtual visit finally took place during the last week of March 2021.
In preparation, the LDEM team and three US landscape architecture programs attended a Virtual Site Visit (VSV) training organized by LAAB via Zoom on February 8th, 2021. The BLA program will receive initial accreditation, if successful, making it the first to receive LAAB/ASLA accreditation outside the USA. Results will be communicated by the end of Summer 2021.
The Dean would like to acknowledge the hard work and leadership of LDEM Chairperson, Dr. Yaser Abunnasr and the whole LDEM team as well as Dr. Maya Nabhani, Director of Continuous Academic Improvement, for their impeccable work on the self-study report and the preparations for the LAAB virtual accreditation visit.
