ESDU’s Project Empowers Vulnerable Communities Through Cash-for-Work Farm Activities

Vulnerable communities are being empowered through cash-for-work opportunities as part of the “Reducing the Direct Economic Downturn Impact on Vulnerable Communities in Lebanon" project's farming activities.

So far, 62 workers have been improving their livelihoods by engaging in various activities such as weeding, soil preparation, plant transplantation, raised garden beds preparation, pruning and compost unit preparation in Jamhour, Jdeideh, Sabtieh, Hazmieh and Chekka. The project is implemented by the LLWB in partnership with ESDU, FHF and Berytech through funds from KfW through the Government of Germany.

The project aims to promote the self-sufficiency of vulnerable communities and enhance local agricultural and food processing production.
