As part of their Heritage Guardians series spotlighting local food producers in the framework of the MedSNAIL project, ESDU journeyed to Barouk in the Al Chouf region to meet Labiba Fayyad, an artisanal apple molasses producer.

Organized by Slow Food, the Region of Piedmont and the city of Turin, Terra Madre Salone del Gusto is an international gastronomy exhibition occurring once in two years in Turin. Building on the well-established experience and methods of Slow Food, the project MedSNAIL- Sustainable Networks for Agro-food Innovation Leading in the Mediterranean - aims to foster socially and environmentally sustainable development of agro-food SMEs by valorizing traditional Euro-Mediterranean products according to a “slow" approach and short-chain principles.
