FAFS and the Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute (DWFI) of the University of Nebraska held (February 18) a virtual open house to explore collaboration opportunities
. DWFI works across a wide variety of disciplines to develop innovative solutions and best practices that increase water and agricultural productivity while ensuring environmental sustainability and protecting public health. Through research, policy development, education, and communication, the institute is enhancing knowledge, fostering future leaders in water and food security, and developing effective techniques to sustainably manage water and increase food security.
The two-hour session consisted of a FAFS-DWFI partnership discussion platform in which faculty and experts from both institutions presented and discussed their programs, research, and engagement activities to identify complementarity and potential synergies across common areas of interest and lay a foundation for a solid partnership in research, education, and outreach.
