In a meeting organized by Bill Kustas and Martha Anderson, both leading USDA scientists participants had a unique opportunity to meet some of the pioneers who developed groundbreaking, two-source, energy balance evapotranspiration models: the TSEB/ALEXI/DisALEXI models.
Kustas and Anderson facilitated the resurrection of thermal remote sensing as an important boundary condition in surface energy balance and evapotranspiration modeling. During the reunion, Dr. Jaafar presented his work on implementing TSEB model globally using Google Earth Engine.
The TSEB family reunion was attended by scientists from the USDA, NASA, NOAA, and from universities and the industry involved in developing ET models.
