Dr. Hadi Jaafar presented at the MRI (Migration Research Institute) Strategies of Resilience International Conference on Refugees, Water Stress, and Climate Change in the Middle East. The MRI conference, held in Budapest, Hungary, May 13-14, 2021, gathered experts in the fields of environmental sustainability, climate change, migration, and water management. It shed light on the future of youth and the social consequences of climate change and migration.
The conference concluded with a roundtable discussion on the philosophy and politics of climate change and proposed adaptation strategies. Research activities of the Institute focus on migration phenomena, in particular immigration in Europe, by synthesizing the scientific findings of various disciplines. The Institute pays special attention to the political, economic, social, and cultural situations of the key countries of origin, transit, and destination. The Institute collaborates with several international research institutes and experts, seeking to facilitate exchange of knowledge between them.
