Meet LEAF’s newly updated GC-MS Purge and Trap AtomX system

People can be exposed to trihalomethanes by drinking tap water and by breathing in the volatile trihalomethanes during showering or washing dishes.  Trihalomethanes can be absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream and carried throughout the body. The health hazard of volatile organic compounds varies from irritations to the eyes, nose, and throat to damage of the liver, kidney, lung, and central nervous system.

LEAF's updated GC-MS Purge and Trap AtomX system – the ONLY one in Lebanon can easily detect the presence of volatile organic compounds. Its 84 position vial tray reduces the amount of water transferred to the GC (Gas Chromatography)_by as much as 60% over previous models due to its improved Moisture Control System. It also reduces the potential leak sources using a precision machined valve manifold block that ensures reliability and robustness in the  system. The GC-MS Purge and Trap AtomX system has a rapid trap cooling time that uses dedicated ducting and has excellent desorption efficiency due to proprietary trapping materials. The system detects volatile organic compounds in matrices like drinking water, well water, wastewater, and soil. It is effective against some common volatile organic compounds, such as benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, xylenes, and trihalomethanes like chloform, bromodichloromethane, and bromoform. When chlorine disinfection is used in drinking water, trihalomethanes form as a by-product through the reaction of chlorine with naturally occurring organic chemicals in water.

LEAF's GC-MS Purge and Trap AtomX system, offers fast, reliable results for those who live next to a petrol station or whose water has a bad odor.  Do not hesitate to test your water at LEAF.
