On April 21, Dr. Rami Zurayk, Professor, Department of Landscape Design and Ecosystem Management (LDEM), Director of the Food Security Program (FSP), and Interim Coordinator of the Rural Community Development Program (RCODE), participated in the (virtual) 54th session of the UN Commission on Population and Development (CPD54).
Dr. Zurayk delivered a speech to the multi-stakeholder panel on population, food security, nutrition, and sustainable development. His speech emphasized the overlapping challenges of climate change and conflict in the global South, and emphasized the need for a holistic view of food systems that are both humane and enable healthy food choices.
