The Lebanon Youth Parliament for Water, in collaboration with United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN-ESCWA) organized the Lebanese Youth Food Systems Dialogue: Water for Food Systems Dialogue, an online dialogue that took place on the July 6, 2021. Youth from across Lebanon gathered to discuss problems and solutions for topics related to water and food systems.
Intended to provide input to the UN Food Systems Summit to be convened in September 2021, the Dialogue reflect the perspectives of Lebanese youth using an interactive and engaging platform to share perspectives, experiences, and issues that enhance the role of water in the food system, including efficient use and safety.
During the event, Dr Roula Bachour from FAFS discussed the role of technology for better water use in the food systems and engaged with the participants who shared with their game-changing actions and solutions for improved water use in Lebanon. Dr Ibrahim Alameddine from MSFEA also presented his perspectives on how to enhance/improve water quality to ensure food safety.
