After years of research and governmental meetings, the ban on Colistin import and its use in the agricultural sector in Lebanon has been officially issued.
This is a result of collaboration between the FAFS, AUB, Center for Food Safety at the University of Georgia, US, and concerned ministries (Ministry of Agriculture) and parties (including the Lebanese Parliament and the Poultry Syndicate). The effort was led by FAFS' Dr. Issmat Kassem and supported by FAFS Deanship and Dr. Inaya Ezzedine who chaired the parliament sessions.
