Dr. Beata Dreksler, Assistant Professor at the department of Landscape Design and Ecosystem Management played an active role in the scientific committee of the First International Conference “Therapeutic Role of Public Spaces in Towns". The conference was organized online by the Department of Landscape Architecture, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland, and Centre for Landscape Architecture, the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Slovakia on December 21, 2021.
During the conference, several topics were discussed including the therapeutic role of urban greenery, forms of green therapy, the concept of "livability" in the context of improving the health of various social groups, health and therapeutic tourism, and therapy in education. Special emphasis was made on topics related to the functioning of societies during the COVID 19 pandemic and post-pandemic as a key to recognizing the possibilities of urban space planning.
