  Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut is a teaching-centered research university based on the American liberal arts model of higher education. AUB has over 8,000 students and 800 faculty members. On November 1^st, the Laboratories for the Environment, Agriculture and Food (LEAF) celebrated 25 years of providing high-quality services meeting international standards, serving as a multidisciplinary testing, research hub, and training center, and responding to the emerging crisis.
