Ms. Monika Fabian, instructor at the Department of Landscape Design and Ecosystem Management (LDEM), participated in the 7th Fábos Conference on Landscape and Greenway Planning held between the 30th of June and the 3rd of July in Hungary. She presented her paper entitled "Extensive green roofs are suitable for restrictive urban conditions in Beirut, Lebanon," co-authored with Dr. Salma Talhouk, Professor at LDEM.
The conference, held every three years, brought together experts, researchers, and planners who influence landscape planning, policy-making, and greenway planning on a local and international level. The event explored how landscape architects and planners from different countries have approached greenway planning and aimed to understand how greenways are tailored to each country's unique geographical, cultural, and political circumstances.
The conference was organized by the Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA, and the Department of Landscape Planning and Regional Development, the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Budapest.
