Dr. Nahla Hwalla, Professor at the department of Nutrition and Food Sciences – FAFS, was nominated (March 3rd) to become a member of the Ethics Committee of the International Center for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM) for a period of 4 years. Following the 149th session of the CIHEAM Board meeting, the governing board has decided to nominate Dr. Hwalla to assume this position. Dr. Nahla has served previously as the president of the CIHEAM's advisory Board.

CIHEAM promotes the development of sustainable food systems and support the inclusive growth of Mediterranean region through specialized training, networked research, and scientific diplomacy.
