Fayyad Zeina

  • Born in Beirut, Zeina Fayad received her M.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Montreal in 2003; her master's project is a play about the Lebanese new generation. She then received a PhD in contemporary French literature from Saint-Joseph University in 2015 for her study of Polyphonies and Perpetual Movement in the works of Catherine Lépront [Les Multiphonies et le Mouvement Perpétuel dans l'Oeuvre de Catherine Lépront]. Zeina taught French, English, and Literature at Notre-Dame University and Saint-Joseph University between 2006 and 2016. She has been teaching Cultural Studies at the American University of Beirut since 2015. Her publications include amongst other two articles, “The Symbolism of Troubled Waters in the Works of Catherine Lepront" [“Le Symbolisme des Eaux troubles dans l'œuvre de Catherine Lépront"] and “Interviews with Catherine Lepront" [“Entrevues avec Catherine Lépront"] published in Acanthe, USJ Literary Journal respectively in 2015 and 2016. She also wrote her first novel L'Insouciance retrouvée at Dar Saër El Mashrek in 2020.
