Marie Saroufim

Marie Saroufim is a Master’s student. Her research interests include the representation of women in Arabic literature; as well as linguistics, lexicography, and dialectology, and Teaching Arabic as a Foreign/Second Language. She is currently working on her M.A. thesis entitled: “Holistic Approaches to Teaching Arabic as a Second Language, and Learners’ Needs”. Before joining AUB, Marie worked as a speech therapist.

تهتمّ ماري بصورة المرأة في الأدب العربيّ، اللسانيّات العربيّة، اللهجات العربيّة، علم المعاجم، وتدريس اللغة العربيّة للأجانب، وهي بصدد كتابة رسالة الماجستير بعنوان: "المقترب التكامليّ لتدريس العربيّة كلغةٍ ثانية واحتياجات المتعلّمين". قبل التحاقها بالجامعة الأمريكيّة، عملت ساروفيم كأخصّائيّة نطق.
